It’s third time lucky for singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka who has won the 2020 Mercury Prize for record, Kiwanuka.

It’s a rich album of politicised, but still soulful songs, covering themes like self-doubt, faith and civil rights.

He beat best-selling artists like Dua Lipa and Stormzy to win the £25,000 prize.

'It's blown my mind,' said the singer. 'Music is all I've ever wanted to do, so I'm over the moon.'

Michael Kiwanuka is scheduled to perform at Princes Street Gardens at part of Edinburgh Summer Sessions 2021. You can grab a ticket here.
